Benedict R. Nicosia retired as a Judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey 1988 and became the firm’s Attorney-Of-Counsel that same year.
He served as Borough Attorney, Municipal Prosecutor and Zoning/Planning Board Attorney for Hazlet Township, Millstone Township, the Borough of Keyport and the Borough of Red Bank during the 1960’s and 1970’s. During this time, Judge Nicosia also served as an Assistant Monmouth County Prosecutor, Mayor of Red Bank, a Trustee of the Monmouth County Bar Association; the Legal Aid Society and Monmouth Legal Services Organization until his appointment as a Judge of the Superior Court by Governor Brendan Byrne in 1981. Judge Nicosia sat in Family, Civil and Criminal Divisions of Monmouth County and was the Presiding Criminal Judge at his retirement from the bench in 1988.
