Edward Washburne was admitted to the New Jersey bar in 1984. He thereafter became an Assistant Deputy Public Defender in Monmouth County, and in that capacity litigated numerous criminal cases, including capital murder trials. In 1987, he joined the Essex County Prosecutor's Office as an Assistant Prosecutor and was assigned to the Special Prosecutions Unit, litigating complex criminal cases. While in that office, he was promoted to Director of the Professional Standards Unit where he supervised the legal review of, and litigation relating to, matters involving law enforcement. In 1997, Mr. Washburne joined the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office as an Assistant Prosecutor. In that office, he litigated substantial and complex matters to include economic and public corruption cases. In 2001, he was promoted to Director of the Forfeiture Unit where he supervised and conducted prosecutions related to seized property for the entire County.
Mr. Washburne is an experienced trial lawyer with a reputation as a forceful and effective advocate. He joined the firm in March, 2007.
